Editorial policy
HostingHunt exists to make hosting decisions easier to verify—not merely easier to sell.
Primary evidence first
Prices, plan limits, policies, and availability should come from provider pricing pages, documentation, or terms.
Dated claims
Facts that change are dated. Old data is refreshed, qualified, or removed rather than presented as current.
No invented certainty
Missing benchmarks, renewal terms, or support evidence are shown as unknown—not estimated into a confident score.
Commercial separation
Affiliate availability and payout do not determine a ranking or verdict.
Research and review process
- Define the user question and comparison criteria.
- Collect current provider facts from primary sources and record the check date.
- Separate advertised claims from independent evidence.
- Compare like with like, including billing term, currency, public IP, backups, storage, traffic, and renewal cost where available.
- State limitations and avoid extending a benchmark beyond the tested plan, region, and date.
- Review important claims, links, disclosure, and presentation before publication.
Ratings and rankings
Where a rating appears, its supporting note and available evidence should be visible. A ranking may reflect documented fit, price, evidence coverage, or user-selected filters. Paid placement is not represented as an editorial result.
AI-assisted work
Automation may help organize data or draft explanations. It does not remove the requirement to verify material provider facts against sources. AI-generated output presented by the advisor is explicitly a starting point and may be wrong.
Corrections and updates
Material corrections should be made promptly and research dates updated when facts are rechecked. To report an error, email hello@hostinghunt.net with the page URL, disputed statement, and a primary source when available.
Advertising and affiliate revenue
Commercial links are disclosed and labeled. Display ads, if introduced, will be visually distinct and will not rewrite editorial conclusions. See the affiliate disclosure.
